Brunette is a practicum student completing her Master of Arts in Counselling Psychology at Yorkville University. Before pursuing counselling, she earned a bachelor’s degree in neuropsychology from York University. Her interest in mental health and psychotherapy was shaped, in part, by personal experiences, which deepened her understanding of the courage it takes to seek support and begin making meaningful change.
As a Registered Psychotherapist (Qualifying), Brunette supports individuals and families navigating life transitions, emotional challenges, and personal growth. She works with concerns such as anxiety and stress, depression, trauma-related experiences, relationship difficulties, identity, self-esteem, and coping with change.
Her approach is collaborative, person-centred, and grounded in empathy, respect, and evidence-informed practice. She draws from a range of integrative and goal-oriented methods, tailoring her work to clients’ unique needs, preferences, values, and lived experiences. Together with her clients, she helps develop practical coping strategies, strengthen emotional awareness, explore patterns affecting wellbeing, and support lasting change.
Brunette believes the therapeutic relationship is central to effective counselling. In working with her, clients can expect a warm and non-judgmental environment, thoughtful structure, and a clear sense of direction. She moves at a pace that honours each individual’s goals, story, and resilience while creating space for reflection, growth, and hope.
